The businessmen play a very important role in our society. They work for the welfare of people. Indian businessmen are a success because they have a never say die attitude and ready to take risk in order to fulfill their dreams.

1) Lakshmi Mittal

He is an Indian steel magnate and the chairman and CEO of Arcelormittal, the world’s largest steel making company. ArcelorMittal is ranked as the world’s third largest steel producer by market share in 2006 after Mittal gained a controlling interest of Romanian steel company, Sidex Grup S.A. – which was privatised again in 2005 – and merged it into ArcelorMittal. He is currently the richest person of Indian origin in the world. In 2011, Mittal was listed as the fifth wealthiest person in the world with a net worth of US$16 billion.

2) Godrej family

The Godrej Group is a Mumbai-based conglomerate established by Ardeshir Godrej and his brother Pirojsha Burjorji Godrej in 1897. It is the flagship company of the Godrej Group. The group has been ranked 449th in the fortune global 500 companies for 2011 and is 30th among India’s most powerful brands according to “The Brand Trust Report” 2012, a study conducted by Trust Research Advisory, a brand insights company.

3) Murugappa Group

The founder of the group was Shri Chinniampalayya whose younger brother, Shri Eswaraiah, was a successful businessman and owned three tanneries in Chennai. The family hailed from Polagam village of Tamil Nadu and United Province (now Uttar Pradesh). After the death of his uncle, Shri Eswaraiah, Chinniampalayya took charge of the tannery business and shifted to Amritsar. Later he moved his base to Chennai in 1929.

4) Ramanbhai Patel

With a turnover of more than $1 billion, Hari Hara Exports is now India’s largest womenswear exporter. The company has a workforce of over 1,000 employees and represents more than 50 brands from UK, US and Japan.

5) Jamsetji Tata

Jamsetji Tata was an Indian pioneer industrialist and philanthropist who founded the Tata Group in 1868. He is widely regarded as one of the most important personalities in India’s history. It was he who established the Tata Group of companies, which today includes over 100 firms with a combined turnover of more than US$58 billion.

6) Pallonji Mistry

Pallonji Mistry is an Irish billionaire construction tycoon based in Mumbai, India. He owns 17% of Tata Sons, which owns the Tata Group. The Tatas are India’s largest industrial group.

7) Kumar Mangalam Birla

The Birla family has been active in Indian industry and commerce since 1857 and their companies include aluminum, indigo dye, insurance, fertilizers and textile manufacturing. Today it is the third largest conglomerate, in terms of market capitalisation, in India.

8) Gautam Adani

An Indian industrialist who is the chairman and founder of Adani Group, an integrated infrastructure corporation with holdings in ports, power generation, roads and SEZs. The group has annual revenues of US$ 10 billion.Adani’s rise from being a college drop-out to one of the most successful Indian businessman has been featured in several magazines and newspapers.

9) R. P. Goenka

Rama Prasad Goenka (1944–2003), was an Indian industrialist who co-founded RPG Group, one of India’s largest conglomerates. He along with his brother, Sanjiv Goenka, and several other family members head the group.

10) Azim Premji

Azim Hashim Premji ( pronunciation ; born 24 July 1945) is an Indian business tycoon who is the chairman of Wipro Limited. He was rated in February 2011 by Forbes as the “fifth richest person in India” with a personal wealth of US$16.1 billion, and is currently the third richest Indian outside the Forbes Top 100 Billionaires list, having debuted at position 44 on Forbes’s list.
